My father’s oldest brother, Robert Aloisious, a great fellow given to singing Irish Ballads and speaking in assorted dialects, married a neighborhood “doll” named Daisy. Her sisters were Tree and Fern. Daisy, too, loved to sing, and so Robert and Daisy were a self entertaining couple, and since they never had children, all of us cousins were recipients of their stories, songs, and humor. Daisy was the first Italian to join the family.
