At the turn of the century, Ana Sandor was one of the thousands of immigrants who arrived in America via steamer ship. She was to join her husband, who had sent for her once he had set up their life to be. Ana boarded the ship with her five children. She disembarked on free soil with two. Her husband died within months.This tragedy caused her to become mentally ill; she never fully recovered.
