Chris’ beloved grandmother, Minnie, was an avid angler during the years the family vacationed in Speculator, New York, out yonder in the Adirondacks, where the nights were chilly enough for blankets, the waters of Lake Pleasant were pure, and fish were jumpin’ even though there was no cotton to grow high.

The fish were so large and energetic that most people wore helmets when fishing. Minnie eschewed such protection and dove for dinner while wearing her dotted swiss outfit, declaring the fish were attracted by the ric-rak on her dress to the extent she only had to reach out to grab as many as she liked.
